Enhance Your Employability the cre8colony Way

The increasing lack of employability of Malaysian graduates has been raising eyebrows. A key factor cited for this phenomenon is a widening gap between what students are taught in academia and industry needs. Many employers claim that, more often than not, the university syllabi do not match the skill-sets required in the workplace.

Conversely, the study demonstrated that the private sector in general has been unenthusiastic in collaborating with the local universities in offering more industry-relevant training and programmes to boost the employability of the local students upon graduation. In fact, many do not have planned internship programmes that expose students to real-life work experience, and less than 10% of them offer internships, with most of them being unpaid internships

Enter cre8colony. This first-of-its-kind creative hub offers innovative one-year certification programmes, i.e. Multimedia Technology & Design (MTD) and Facilities & Events Management (FEM) that each comprises a 50% coursework component delivered by the acclaimed Singapore University of Social Sciences and 50% hands-on component whereby students will have the opportunity to work on real industry projects. This way, they will not only be armed with solid academic knowledge but also acquire real-life industry experience under the guidance of cre8colony’s Creative Media Partners: Penang-based WIN World Group as well as Singapore-based CreativesAtWork and Media Architects.

Consequently, the students will be able to enhance their creative portfolios and resumes, and ensure that they are well equipped with the necessary skill-sets to thrive in the real world upon graduation.
